Aloha to our Class of '69 Ohana,
I don't usually send messages like Roy does but I would like to
share some of my thoughts and feelings about this weekend. Personally,
I had one of the most wonderful, relaxing and "refreshing" weekends
being with the members of our class. I am also so very thankful to the
"Gracious Hostess" in Tomi Girl Chong and my lifelong friend Noa Chong.
They opened the Pa'ahou to whoever wished to "bunk in" for the weekend,
especially Saturday Night. We had the blessing of being with them both
of our nights this weekend and it was just wonderful.
I marvelled at the turnout of classmates who came to the wedding.
Those who came out Friday night to work so very hard preparing those
floral arrangements, favors and other decorations. On Saturday morning
the troops were at it setting up. I mean, if you were not a member of
our class and if you knew what was happening before, during or after the
wedding and reception, you would have been totally taken back!! It was
classmates at every station at the reception! I can only hope that one
of the group photos that we took at the reception will somehow land up
in my family photo album.
Roy get's so excited and happy when a new member joins the "online
express." He normally wakes up about 3:45-4am each morning but this
morning, "I heard" he went to bed at 4am staying up and talking story
(Now that is a FIRST) That is why I am now sitting here with the email
because he "passed out" on the flight coming home this evening and I
thought I would need "smelling salt" to wake him up. Thanks to you all
for the support of the "online express" because as busy as Roy is in his
work and in the community, moderating the "online express" is one of
his most "favorite" things to do. He plans his days each week and as
busy as he is, he "blocks out a day" for the grandkids who all calls him
"Papa Buff."
It was so great seeing many classmates that I have not seen in many
years. Scott Rogers, Frances Kwock, Zelda Puchert, Alan Kumalae, Andy
Keliikoa to name just a few! Mahalo to Simeon and Lorraine, Nancy, Walt
& Eda, Pat and Pam Nakoa and the many members of the "Core Group" for
holding our class together up until now. We look up to all of you very
much. Goodnight......I can truly say that for Roy who has "kaboooomed"
on our bed!
We truly love all of you very much! Thanks Sam and Theone for
allowing us to be of service! I know that God Bless us tremendously
this weekend, His Hand and His Loving was Spirit was so strong this
whole weekend.
